Sky is giving away its optional Wi-Fi Guarantee to anyone who signs up for its Superfast and Ultrafast broadband bundles. Wi-Fi Guarantee will be available to all new customers for free for three months, with those who want to continue with the service after the promotional period charged £5 a month thereafter.Â
For those who don’t know what Sky’s Wi-Fi Guarantee entails, here’s a quick reminder.
Similar to the Speed Guarantee, which promises a minimum broadband speed coming into your home, the Wi-Fi Guarantee ensures you get at least 3Mbps into every room via wireless connection. If you’re not getting that minimum speed, Sky will help troubleshoot any issues that might be interrupting your signal. If that doesn’t work, Sky can send out a booster to help improve the strength of the Wi-Fi signal, which deteriorates the further away you are from the router.
If neither of these methods helps, Sky will offer a refund. To be eligible, you’ll need to be using Sky-branded networking kit, not third-party alternatives.
As you’d expect with the latest bundles from Sky, you’ll also receive the latest Sky Broadband Hub router, a Voice Over IP (VoIP) home phone service that leverages the broadband connection to make calls, tight parental controls to limit screen time and unlimited downloads.
Unlike the Wi-Fi Guarantee, which is usually an optional extra, the broadband bundle comes with Sky’s Speed Guarantee, which allows customers to claim their money back when their connection drops below the guaranteed download rate. Your speed will need to dip for at least three consecutive days. Claims can only be made after the first fortnight after activation.
