Nintendo Switch 2 price leak leaves fans breathing huge sigh of relief | Gaming | Entertainment

The Nintendo Switch 2 price tag has become the main point of contention ahead of its summer release date.

Without the specs of the PS5 or Xbox Series X, and with Nintendo’s history of releasing more affordable hardware, the hope is that the Switch 2 won’t break the bank when it launches in either May or June.

While it’s almost certain to cost more than the original Switch, the latest price leak suggests the new Nintendo console will be an affordable option for fans.

While it’s worth taking with a pinch of salt, a new leak on Famiboards may have shed some light on the console’s price tag.

According to a store employee, a Canadian branch of CostCo has a placeholder price tag of CAD$499.99.

It may sound like a lot, but at the current exchange rate that’s just $350 in the US and only £280 for UK customers.

While pricing tends to differ by region (so don’t expect the £280 price tag to stick), it’s a positive sign that should leave fans breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Analysts previously predicted a $399 price tag for US customers, which is around £320 in the UK.

As a reminder, the original Nintendo Switch launched for £279.99, while the Switch OLED cost £309 when it launched back in 2021.

Fans should find out for sure when Nintendo holds a Switch 2 Direct conference on April 2.
