GTA 6 release date delay – Worse fears may have come true for Grand Theft Auto 6 fans | Gaming | Entertainment

Grand Theft Auto 6 may have been delayed by Rockstar Games. While I’ve always suspected GTA 6 would likely fall victim to a delay or two, Rockstar parent company Take-Two recently told investors that the game is still on track for an autumn 2025 release date. However, a new report suggests Rockstar Games has internally delayed the new Grand Theft Auto until 2026, with a PC version to follow in 2027. That’s according to a writer from a dedicated GTA website, who claims the information was revealed to him by multiple developers across two different studios. On the plus side, the post claims GTA 6 will launch in early to mid-2026, which means the delay may not be too significant.

“EXCLUSIVE: GTA VI has been internally delayed by Rockstar Games and they’re already decided on the early to mid 2026 release window,” reads a tweet from a writer at GTABase.

“PC is planned for around 12 – 18 months after the console launch. This information comes from multiple devs across two studios.”

While the source has a fairly decent track record with GTA leaks, it’s definitely worth taking this with a pinch of salt, at least until Rockstar Games makes an official announcement.

Even if this particular report is false, the sheer scope and ambition of Grand Theft Auto 6 means a delay could occur at any moment.

GTA 6 will need to be bug tested to the gills, and will require more patches than a 40-a-day smoker looking to kick the habit.

Fans will be hoping Rockstar Games provides a concrete release date and pre-order information when trailer 2 eventually drops.

There’s a rumour the new trailer will drop on October 4, so keep checking back for more information.

Daily Express will keep this article updated with any official announcements on a potential GTA 6 delay.

Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.

Rockstar explains: “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

The trailer gives fans a look some of the map locations as seen from the skies above. This includes locations based on the Florida Keys, as well as the beach and more.
