First Decendant Season 1 release date, time, server downtime and update patch notes | Gaming | Entertainment

The First Descendant Season 1 is about to begin on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. After a successful pre-season that attracted millions of players, The First Descendant developer NEXON will release the game’s biggest post-launch update yet, as Season 1 Invasion makes its debut across the board. The First Descendant Season 1 Invasion has an August 29 release date on all platforms. The Season 1 update will be available to download during an extended period of server maintenance, which begins at 6am BST UK time. This means the game will be offline and unavailable for six hours until 12pm BST later on August 29.

While server maintenance is never welcome, the good news is that fans will be able to download a huge new content update while the game’s offline.

According to the early patch notes, the headline new feature is the addition of a brand new playable character.

Named Hailey Scott, the newest addition to the roster is a legendary sniper with some frosty special moves.

This includes Cryo Round in which Hailey fires frosty round that automatically tracks the enemy, deals damage and inflicts the ‘Cryo’ status

Storm Snare, meanwhile, sees Hailey fire a freezing beam complete with a area of effect Chill Vortex that knocks back enemies. Hailey’s Cold Fury move decreases her movement speed, all the while increasing Firearm and Skill Critical Hit Rate, and Firearm Penetration.

Finally, Zenith replaces Hailey’s weapon with her Unique Weapon, which is an anti-material Sniper Cannon.

You can check out Hailey and some of the other new additions as part of the Season 1 trailer below.

Other new content launching on August 29 includes an Invasion Dungeon, Inversion Reinforcement, plus the Invasion Season Battle Pass and Ultimate Weapon Excava.

NEXON explains more: “When the Invasion begins, two dungeons within the Hard Infiltration Operation will feature invasion events daily.”

In order to prevail, players must face the challenges alone, navigating unique routes, puzzles and strategies that are said to differ from the standard dungeons. The aim is to complete these challenges as quickly as possible.

Inversion Reinforcement, meanwhile, is a progression system that only lasts for the season. Players can choose three of the effects that have been unlocked, although you’ll receive a season-long passive effect that is available when you unlock four effects in a line.

New abilities include Hunt (improves stats), Attribute (improves resistance), Healing and more.

It’s also worth pointing out that more updates will be released during the course of the season.
