Diablo 4 fans have been given some fantastic news by Blizzard. The Diablo 4 developer has provided fresh details about the game’s upcoming Steam port, which has an October 17 release date and a 6pm BST UK launch time. It’s particularly good news if you want to play Diablo 4 on the go, because according to Blizzard, the game will be Steam Deck Verified at launch.
The news was confirmed by Diablo community manaher Adam Fletcher on X (formerly Twitter).
“We have been hearing some questions regarding Steam Deck verification for Diablo 4,” Fletcher tweets.
“We can happily say that Diablo 4 will be Steam Deck Verified starting next Tuesday with the launch of the game on Steam and the start of Season of Blood!”
As Fletcher points out, the launch of Diablo 4 on Steam coincides with the start of the new season.
Titled Season of Blood, Blizzard will be hoping the second season is better received than season one.
The new season will add five new and returning endgame bosses, updates to renown rewards, updates to gem and stash storage, as well as updates to resistance and status effects.
In terms of gameplay tweaks, fans can expect more efficient Inventory management for Gems, plus changes to the functionality of status effects such as Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage and also Elemental Resistances.
Unveiled during gamescom Opening Night Live, Diablo 4 Season 2 has an October 17 release date on all platforms.
It replaces the current season – Season of Malignant – which added multiple new enemies and bosses, as well as a boatload of exclusive rewards.
