Apple Launches New Apple Music Voice Plan

Apple has several subscription services under its belt, one of which is Apple Music. However, at the company’s Unleashed event, they made a surprise announcement when they revealed that they have a new subscription tier for Apple Music that they’re calling the Apple Music Voice Plan.

This is priced at $4.99 a month, about half the price Apple charges for its regular Apple Music plan. But why is it so cheap? Obviously since it is cheaper than the regular Apple Music subscription, there is a catch, and that catch is that you cannot use Apple Music through the app on your devices.

This is a pure Siri experience meaning that as long as you own a device that has Siri, you’ll be able to use this plan. You basically control everything using your voice and you’ll have access to Apple Music’s entire catalogue of songs and playlists. Also, you won’t have access to certain Apple Music features like Spatial Audio, Lossless music, videos, and lyrics.

It’s an interesting plan although we’re not sure who exactly this is being aimed at. At the moment Apple Music subscribers can already control Apple Music through Siri as well as through devices like the HomePod. Not being able to use the app sounds like it could be rather troublesome, but at $4.99, we suppose there might be some who feel that it might be worth it.
