If you’re a PS Plus Essentials subscriber, then the highlight of the month is when Sony reveals the next batch of free PS4 and PS5 games. The good news is that Sony is very close to announcing the PlayStation Plus games for July 2023. The July Essentials line-up will be officially unveiled by Sony at 4.30pm BST UK time on June 28. The games will be available to download and install less than a week later on the morning of July 4.
The new PS Plus Essentials will replace the current line-up of NBA 2K23, Trek to Yomi, and Jurassic World Evolution 2.
The headline new game is NBA 2K23, which features all of the official teams and players, not to mention a wealth of game modes.
“Rise to the occasion and realise your full potential in NBA 2K23,” reads the official description.
“Prove yourself against the best players in the world and showcase your talent in MyCAREER or The W.
“Pair today’s All-Stars with timeless legends in MyTEAM. Build a dynasty of your own as a GM or lead the league in a new direction as the Commissioner in MyNBA. Take on NBA or WNBA teams in PLAY NOW and experience true-to-life gameplay.”
Trek to Yomi, on the other hand, is a stylish action game published by Devolver Digital.
“Trek to Yomi is an ultra-stylised cinematic action-adventure that follows an enthralling story of Hiroki during his fall against the forces of evil.
“Experience his heroic return to make good on his failed promise to save the people he swore to protect.”
Finally, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a strategy game in which players build their own parks.
“Experience an original Jurassic World narrative alongside iconic characters including Dr. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), and lead the efforts to control, conserve and contain wild dinosaurs now rampaging across the USA.”
The next batch of games will be announced during Sony’s PlayStation Plus celebration event, which marks one year of new PS Plus.
This includes free Avatars and Wallpaper Illustration for PlayStation Plus members.
Sony explains more: “To mark this occasion, all members will receive a voucher code to redeem custom avatars that commemorate some of the popular titles offered through PlayStation Plus.
“Be on the lookout for an email, or check the PlayStation Plus website for a voucher code that can be redeemed from June 20 to June 30.”
Sony is also holding a free PlayStation Plus multiplayer weekend, and will award subscribers with exclusive digital collectible rings for playing certain games.
